President-elect Donald Trump said Thursday he is choosing former Sen. David Perdue of Georgia to be ambassador to China.
Trump said in a social media post that Perdue, a former CEO, “brings valuable expertise to help build our relationship with China.” Perdue pushed Trump’s debunked lies about electoral fraud during his failed bid for Georgia governor.

Perdue lost his Senate seat to Democrat Jon Ossoff four years ago and ran unsuccessfully in a primary against Georgia Gov.
Two of his recruiting classmates are in the NBA. Another, a fellow Colorado native, is spending his final collegiate season at Georgia Tech.
But Nique Clifford still is in Colorado. And he’s still getting better.

The family of a Denver woman who was killed earlier this year filed a wrongful death lawsuit Wednesday against her husband, a Regis University professor who is charged with murder in her death.
The parents of 44-year-old Seorin Kim sued Nicholas Myklebust, 45, to try to ensure he does not profit from the couple’s shared assets after the deaths of his wife and two children, the lawsuit states.
Seorin Kim and her 2½-month-old daughter, Lesley Kim, both died July 29 after an incident at the family’s home in the 3200 block of North Syracuse Street.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Eric Bieniemy’s return to UCLA lasted only one season.
The Bruins let go of Bieniemy on Thursday after fielding one of the nation’s worst offenses this season.
It didn’t take head coach DeShaun Foster long to find a replacement.
Indiana quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator Tino Sunseri will become the new Bruins offensive coordinator, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Bruins had not yet announced the decision.
Sunseri spent one season at Indiana after following Hoosiers coach Curt Cignetti from James Madison.
I appreciate the glory of popovers this time of year. The crusty brown exteriors and the creamy insides show off surfaces that are just right for butter and jam. For years I made them in a special metal popover pan that was like a muffin pan but deeper; it was problematic in that the popovers often got stuck.
