The underlying theme is the often strained relationship between mom Naomi and daughter Wynonna. Naomi admits having reservations about opening up old wounds that formed during those early days of their musical partnership. "[I saw] her as this career woman, very ambitious and full of a lot of expectations for me as a performer," she says.
