A Harvard man died in a car vs. pedestrian crash Thursday night in Harvard, according to a news release from the McHenry County Coroner’s Office. Ronald L. Jacobs Sr., 69, was pronounced dead at 10:11 p.m. near North Division and East Front streets, according to the release. Jacobs died of blunt trauma of the chest, according to an autopsy performed Friday. The crash remains under investigation by Harvard police, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department Accident Investigation Unit and the coroner’s office. Authorities could not immediately be reached Friday evening for more information.
