John Carpenter helped make the slasher genre into what it is today with 1978's "Halloween," a horror benchmark that still stands as one of the best movies of its kind ever made. Now, after decades without any direct involvement in the series, Carpenter will executive produce the 11th installment alongside Jason Blum, whose Blumhouse Productions will co-finance the film along with Miramax.
