Guilty Verdicts In Maccabi Games Case In Stamford

STAMFORD-A Berkeley, California man who went trial after turning down a plea agreement that would have immediately released him from jail for resisting arrest, is now facing four more years in jail after losing his trial at the Stamford courthouse Friday afternoon. After two days of testimony and the morning spent on closing arguments, a jury of six men and woman returned after 90 minutes of deliberation with four guilty verdicts of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Alarmed that he was going to cause trouble at the Jewish youth sports and arts festival, police were on the lookout and spotted his lettered car blocking a driveway across the street from Temple Beth El near Westhill High School and detained him. Shin, who court papers show graduated the top of his class in a large suburban Houston high school and went on to study mass communications for two and one-half years at the University of Texas at Austin, said the police were lying about him creating a disturbance.
