Guard Assigned To El Paso County District Judge Threatened Over Rape Sentences

An El Paso County District judge has been assigned a temporary security detail after receiving threats over a case involving the alleged gang rape of a 13-year-old girl, he said in court Friday. Fourth Judicial District Judge Michael McHenry said the decision to bolster security in his courtroom - including assigning a guard to ensure his personal safety - was made by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office after a string of threatening voice mails left for his staff.
