Growing Pontiac Turns Vacant Land To Gardens, Wins National Recognition

A program that turns vacant properties in Pontiac into community gardens has been named one of the best in the nation for community and economic development by the National Association of Counties. Growing Pontiac, developed by the Oakland County Treasurer's Office, was started in 2015 as a way to utilize tax foreclosed properties that would otherwise sit vacant.
