A decision by Gov. Rick Snyder earlier this month to veto a bill that would relieve larger Michigan communities from funding state road projects will have very little impact on Macomb County. That is, at least for now.Snyder on July 1 vetoed Senate Bill 557, which would have replaced a portion of Public Act 51 that requires cities and villages with more than 25,000 residents to pay for portions of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) projects that fall within their boundaries, including opening, widening and improving state trunk lines.
