The star of the upcoming swords-and-sandals sequel Gladiator 2, Paul Mescal, has revealed that Ridley Scott's upcoming sequel will pay homage to the Oscar-winning original Gladiator film starring Russell Crowe. The epic historical drama, Gladiator 2 will star Mescal as Lucius (played by Spencer Treat Clark in the first movie), and will additionally feature original Gladiator stars Connie Nielsen (who played Lucilla) and Djimon Hounsou (who played Juba).
