Sadako Joyce Uyeda was forced, at the age of 10, onto a train that would transport her six siblings, including a newborn baby, her mom, dad and grandfather, to Tule Lake from their home in Hood River, Oregon. That was in 1942 and 75 years later, a friend, she said, forced her to get on the bus and return to a prison camp, this time as part of the annual Manzanar Pilgrimage sponsored by the Florin Japanese American Citizen League.
