Protecting children — who can disagree with that? A common trump card for political arguments, protecting children is a universal imperative of our society, regardless of one’s political persuasion. Protection necessarily includes ensuring that children have optimal health and well-being. We want them to be happy, fulfilled and not lacking in essential human needs, whether they be physical, mental or emotional. After the basics of food, clothing and shelter, optimal to health and well-being is happiness and acceptance of oneself.
