BARRINGTON – A freight train struck and killed a pedestrian Thursday morning in Barrington, causing extensive delays along Metra's Union Pacific Northwest line through morning rush hour. Metra issued an alert on its website about 5:30 a.m. that said all inbound trains were stopped near Barrington because of a Canadian National Railway company freight train hitting a pedestrian.
