Former Principal Sentenced To Prison In Dui Case

An Ocala judge on Thursday sentenced a former Leesburg school principal to just over seven years in prison, despite pleas to consider her 2013 DUI an isolated occurrence for which the educator has been extremely remorseful. The sentence will be followed by extensive probation. “I just want the court to know, and the people that I hurt to know, how sad and how sorry I am,” Mary Staley, 55, testified in court while looking directly at her victims.
