COCHRANE, Alberta (AP) — Former Oregon player Daniel Miernicki won the ATB Financial Classic on Sunday for his first Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada victory. The 25-year-old Miernicki, from Santee, California, shot a 6-under 64 at The Links of GlenEagles for a one-stroke victory over Canada's Danny Sahl. Miernicki made a 35-foot birdie putt on the 72nd hole to reach 17 under, then waited for the final four groups to finish. "It was moving," Miernicki said about the birdie putt.
