CHILDRESS — An outbreak of the flu has prompted the closing of Childress Elementary, according to Childress Independent School District Superintendent Rick Teran. “We had over 100 students out today with the flu or flu-like symptoms and 86 out yesterday,” he stated. “After discussing the situation with staff at the hospital, we felt making the decision to close the entire campus on Thursday and Friday was in the best interest of the staff and students.” read more
