When Bo Nix hit Courtland Sutton on third-and-6 with 1:53 remaining against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Broncos’ annual, endless, eternal pursuit of a quarterback ended.
It is officially the Bo Show now.
The Broncos lost to Kansas City in the most excruciating way possible, but they found their guy.

MEXICO CITY — An imposing whole fish painted with bright red and green sauces graces almost every table at Contramar, a big, airy restaurant in the chic Roma Norte neighborhood of Mexico City. When I ate there recently, a server set the platter down and then paused instinctively, waiting for me to take a picture — as all the other guests do, he said.
Butterflied, grilled and adorned with a verdant parsley sauce and a smoky red adobo, this photogenic dish, pescado a la talla Contramar, has become synonymous with Mexico City, and with its creator, chef Gabriela Cámara.
But you don’t have to visit Contramar to eat the fish.
Sean Payton reiterated his belief Wednesday that Denver’s game-deciding blocked field goal at Kansas City last weekend was a failure in coaching.
“I felt sick watching it,” Payton said. “And I felt like, ‘hey, that’s on us.’ In other words, (it’s) technique and then also, are we asking the right players to do the right things?
“(Offensive line coach) Zach Strief played forever and played in that position.
Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds practiced for the first time in a month on Wednesday, opening his 21-day window to return to the 53-man roster.
Reynolds was placed on the injured reserve last month after undergoing minor finger surgery. He sustained the injury while falling to the ground following his touchdown catch in the fourth quarter of the team’s Week 5 win over the Raiders.
“It’s just getting back into the football mindset,” Payton said of Reynolds, who was a full participant at practice.
The CHSAA girls’ state volleyball tournament is dynastic. Valor Christian, Platte Valley, Thompson Valley, Lewis-Palmer, Fowler and Eaton quickly come to mind.
But no team has bumped, set, and spiked in recent years with more authority than Merino. The No. 1 Rams enter Thursday’s opening day of the Class 1A tournament at the Denver Coliseum seeking its fifth consecutive title and 15th overall.
“Tradition is such a part of this and is such a part of this community,” said coach Christin Sutter, who was a freshman on the Rams’ 1993 title team.
