This is earlier than expected, as the indie horror game was previously slated to debut on the appropriate-sounding date of October 31--Halloween.Cawthon made the announcement through various YouTube channels, including Razzbowski.August 8 is not a random date; it's the one-year anniversary of the release of the original Five Nights at Freddy's.
