A Thursday afternoon fire that forced a Danbury La Quinta Inn & Suites to be evacuated was put under control as of about 1:45 p.m., according to scanner reports. The hotel is located at 116 Newtown Road in Danbury and was evacuated at about 1:30 p.m. after the smell of smoke was reported.
