Fire Damages Vancouver Home

A fire at a home in downtown Vancouver's Hough neighborhood sent residents and their pets onto the street and filled the air with smoke Saturday afternoon. Firefighters were responding just after 12:15 p.m. to the fire at 900 W. 16th St. Other details, including whether there were injuries and how many people were in the home at the time of the fire, were not immediately available. The owner of the home, listed in county records as Jerry Hall, said smoke was coming out of the basement, and he and other residents were able to get out of the house.
