AP Duke University scholar Timothy Tyson published a book about the brutal slaying of Emmett Till in 2017. Weeks later, FBI agents asked him to turn over interviews with a key witness who acknowledge lying about her interactions with the black teen before his 1955 death. Tyson's 2017 book "The Blood of Emmett Till" quotes a white woman, Carolyn Donham, as saying she wasn't truthful when she testified that the black teen whistled and made sexual advances six decades ago. A federal official familiar with the matter said that information in the 2017 book was what led federal investigators to reexamine the case. Weeks after he published a book about the brutal slaying of Emmett Till, a North Carolina author received a call from FBI agents asking about his interview with a key witness who acknowledged lying about her interactions with the black teen. Not long after that, Duke University scholar Timothy Tyson said, he turned over interview recordings and other research materials for his 2017 book on the 1955 case that shocked the nation and helped build momentum for the civil rights movement.See the rest of the story at Business InsiderSee Also:Trump pardons Oregon ranchers in case that inspired the 2016 Bundy occupationA 1-year-old boy who was separated from his father had to appear in US court to be reunited with his familyNorth Korea says talks with Pompeo were 'regrettable' and accused the US of trying to pressure it into giving up its nukes
