Ed Sullivan a former gossip columnist suddenly was the premier variety show host on Sunday evenings in the late 1940's. His wooden and stiff persona worked well for the type of program the network was looking for.
Sullivan had already promised to not put the young singer on his program, ever.
Tidal action on the underside of the Thwaites Glacier in the Antarctic will “inexorably” accelerate melting this century, according to new research by British and American scientists. The researchers warn the faster melting could destabilize the entire West Antarctic ice sheet, leading to its eventual collapse.
The massive glacier—which is roughly the size of Florida—is of particular interest to scientists because of the rapid speed at which it is changing and the impact its loss would have on sea levels (the reason for its “Doomsday” moniker).
Former President Donald Trump vowed to reinstate his travel ban that barred people from some predominantly Muslim countries and expand it to prevent refugees from war-torn Gaza from entering the U. S.
“I will ban refugee resettlement from terror infested areas like the Gaza Strip, and we will seal our border and bring back the travel ban,” Trump said Thursday evening in Washington at an event alongside Republican donor and billionaire Miriam Adelson.

An 18-year-old woman died after she was hit by the teen driver of a pickup truck while crossing East 64th Avenue last week, according to the Commerce City Police Department.

The woman was crossing the street near the 5100 block of East 64th Avenue on Friday night when she was struck by the juvenile driver, police officials said in a post on Facebook.

In coming to Colorado, Carter Stoutmire knew that he needed to be ready to adjust.
“(Cornerbacks coach Kevin) Mathis was like, ‘You’re gonna be our swing guy.’ So wherever they need me, that’s where I was gonna be able to fit in,” Stoutmire said this week.
The sophomore defensive back from Plano, Texas, has been needed the past couple of weeks and he’s delivered for the Buffs (2-1), who host Baylor (2-1) at Folsom Field on Saturday (6 p.m., Fox).
After playing just 10 snaps in the season opener, Stoutmire has filled in for injured safety Shilo Sanders the past two weeks, posting 11 tackles and a pass breakup.
