By Staff reports A tree fell into a transmission line and halted power to about 2,400 Appalachian Power customers in Charleston Monday morning. Phil Moye, a spokesman for the company, said a landslide along Barlow Drive caused the tree to fall. The outage started at 7:15 a.m., and workers had restored power to every customer by 9:45 a.m. The outage included parts of the West Side and the Knolwood Drive area, he said.
