Barry Faile has been named the state’s 2018 Sheriff of the Year by the S.C. Sheriffs’ Association. Faile has been Lancaster County sheriff for nine years and has worked for the sheriff’s office since 1989, when he began his career as a patrol deputy. He worked his way up through the ranks, serving in every part of the department’s operation. The award drew praise from other leaders in Lancaster’s law enforcement community.
