ARLINGTON - Randy Gregory had waited far too long to just go through the motions Saturday night. The Cowboys defensive end played in his first game in 20 months and treated every play like it could be his last. He played to the whistle and then some, once flying to the ground for a loose ball that wasn't a fumble. In the end, Gregory's stat line of no tackles on 10 plays in the first half doesn't nearly tell the story of his accomplishment. For much of the last two years Gregory has fought drug addiction and mental health issues in a journey that included checking in and out of multiple rehabilitation centers and constant counseling. The last time Gregory took the field for the Cowboys was on New Year's Day in 2017 at Philadelphia in the game that ended the 2016 season. So it's understandable why he'd be revved up to get into a game, no matter that it was a preseason contest against Cincinnati.Gregory said playing football again was fun and he approached his first game back with no high expectations."It felt good.
