Evan Turner has played a major role in Ohio State's basketball success this year, having averaged 20.6 points and 12.9 rebounds per game for the Buckeyes before last night's game against Eastern Michigan. However, midway through the first half the junior suffered a transverse process fracture on his second and third lumbar vertebrae after landing awkwardly following a dunk attempt. With the Buckeyes holding a 15-5 lead and 13:28 remaining in the first half, Turner leapt in the air to try for a dunk.
