European Shares Hit 6-Week Closing Low; Miners Fall Brian Gorman Mon Jul 5, 2010 11:48am EDT LONDON July 5 (Reuters) - European shares edged lower on Monday with miners weaker on a gloomier economic outlook, though a rise for BP (BP.L) helped stem losses in thin volumes as Wall Street was closed for a holiday The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 index of top shares fell 0.2 percent to end the day provisionally at 967.35 points, the lowest close since May 25.
