Emotion in Albany court as driver faces charges in fatal crash The mother of a 24-year-old woman killed in a 2014 crash on the Thruway lashed out in court Monday at the alleged drunken driver charged with the death of her daughter and another passenger. Police allege Pascuzzi was drunk and driving about 150 mph on July 4, 2014, when he struck another vehicle and then a tractor-trailer, killing the passengers on Interstate 90 in Guilderland. Prosecutors said Pascuzzi had a .18 percent blood alcohol level — more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent — when he lost control of his Volkswagen between exits 24 and 25. Pascuzzi is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, second-degree manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI and reckless driving.
