Effort Underway To Extend Lafayette Trail In Massachusetts

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A legislative effort is underway to extend the Marquis de Lafayette Trail in Massachusetts through Berkshire County.The Berkshire Eagle reports that Democratic state Sen. Adam Hinds, of Pittsfield, recently secured Senate approval of a measure to extend the trail, which is currently 25 miles long and runs from Hinsdale to Williamsburg.If the legislation is approved, the state would put up signs marking the trail's extension another 20 miles from the New York border, through Hancock, Pittsfield and Dalton to Hinsdale.
