MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins veteran offensive tackle Kendall Lamm may have played his last snap with the team.
Lamm, the Dolphins’ starting right tackle down the stretch this season, was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, ending his season ahead of Sunday’s regular-season finale against the New York Jets (4-12).
The Dolphins (8-8) can still qualify for the postseason if they win Sunday and have the Denver Broncos lose to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Lamm has previously been dealing with a back injury, but he played through the ailment last Sunday in Cleveland, a 20-3 win over the Browns.
Seven years ago, New Orleans officials began installing adjustable barriers at intersections in the famed French Quarter to temporarily prevent vehicles from entering the tourist area where the narrow streets are typically teeming with pedestrians every night of the week. But the stainless-steel columns known as bollards were in the process of being replaced and some were apparently not engaged early on New Year’s Day when a motorist rammed a pickup truck through a crowd of revelers, killing 10 people.

BOSTON — Chad Venning scored 15 of his 17 points in the first half, Fred Payne finished with 15 and Boston College rallied to beat Miami 78-68 on Wednesday in the Hurricanes’ first game since Jim Larrañaga stepped down as the men’s basketball coach.
The 75-year-old Larrañaga was replaced for the remainder of the season by associate head coach Bill Courtney — one of Larrañaga’s best friends for the past three decades or so.
Boston College trailed by as many as 19 points in the first half.
The Hurricanes’ 2024 football season is in the books.
Miami ended the year with 10 wins for the first time since 2017, but the season ended with disappointment: UM missed a chance at the ACC title and the College Football Playoff.
It was a wild and entertaining season with several close games and big comebacks.
