Florida’s population continues to grow — and for good reason. With its great weather, abundance of activities and overall quality of life, Florida is a wonderful place to live. Having grown up in Michigan, but a Sunshine State resident for 15 years now, I certainly don’t miss those snowy winters.
As we have all seen over the last few months, however, a downside to the tropical weather is the hurricanes, which are particularly hard on our state’s vulnerable populations, including older adults and those who are disabled.
