Economic Report: Planned Layoffs Drop To Lowest Level Since 2006

Major U.S. companies announced in February that they would cut 42,090 jobs, the fewest number of planned layoffs since 2006, according to an informal tally compiled by outplacement firm Challenger Gray & Christmas.
