Economic Forum Forecast: Expect Slow, But Steady Economic Growth

The U.S. economy will grow at a slow but steady pace of 2.4 percent the rest of this year with modest but rising inflation and only a small probability of a recession sometime in the next 1½ years, a Wells Fargo Private Bank executive told more than 500 business and community leaders Friday in Colorado Springs. The nation's economy won't get to the 3 percent growth rate President Donald Trump has targeted and accelerating inflation from rising wages triggered by a tight labor market is becoming more of a concern, said Michael Serio, regional chief investment officer for Wells Fargo in Denver.
