By Emma Crawford Kent Daily Journal TUPELO – King Early Childhood Education Center students tackled new science concepts this week with the help of some classroom visitors – their parents. A week-long event, ECEC teacher Cheryl Dexter’s “Science Fun Week” encouraged students and parents to try science experiments together and share them in the classroom. Each day, parents visited Dexter’s class and with their child demonstrated their experiments, explaining to the rest of the class the science behind it. On Wednesday morning, students saw the concept of density demonstrated by dropping various objects into a fishbowl. Before each object was placed in the water, students guessed whether it would sink or float based on its texture and weight. A baking-soda-and-vinegar volcano also made an appearance Wednesday.
