Eba Approves New Policy For Televised Debates

By Phil Kabler West Virginia Public Broadcasting has a new policy for determining when third-party and independent candidates will be invited to participate in broadcast debates.The state Education Broadcasting Authority on Wednesday unanimously adopted a policy that sets specific standards for candidate inclusion in debates."Our thinking basically was, if we're doing a debate, that we have to time to really dig deep, and get in-depth answers from the candidates," Public Broadcasting executive director Scott Finn said of the policy.
