JACKSONVILLE BEACH | Taking the plunge into the choppy 61-degree water with about 3-foot swells and a strong current was just another Sunday morning at the beach for Luis Etchenique and his friends. Etchenique of Ponte Vedra Beach and a dozen other members of Duval Ocean Swimmers were smiling when they went into the Atlantic Ocean at the Jacksonville Beach Pier and wore even bigger grins when they came out about a mile and a quarter north at Hopkins Street in Neptune Beach. read more
