Drugs, Gun Net 2-year Term

Judge Tom Difanis said he was impressed by the effort Taylor-Smith has made since police raided her home on West Eureka Street on Nov. 14, 2017, after drugs had allegedly been bought there and found cocaine residue, painkillers, cannabis and guns. URBANA — A Champaign woman who had a gun in her home when drugs were present in 2017 was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison. The sentence was the least that Deborah Taylor-Smith, 37, could have received for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
