Drake Power Plant Fully Operational Months After Fire

BY RYAN MAYE HANDY ryanmaye.handy@gazette.com -Ten months after a fire ripped through Martin Drake Power Plant, Colorado Springs Utilities announced on Monday that the plant is fully operational after $20 million of repair work. Lubricating oil dripping on hot steam pipes ignited the fire on May 5, 2014 - the blaze heavily damaged three boilers in the plant, shutting down all operations for more than two months.
