Downtown Oklahoma City has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past 20 years with the influx of thousands of new residents, workers and visitors. But the increased population hasn't always translated into success for landmark businesses, even those that survived decades of ups and downs. The following five businesses represent losses that go far beyond the establishment; when the lights went out, the culture and diversity of downtown took a hit. Top Five Losses for Downtown: The Lunch Box •Address: 423 W Sheridan Ave. •Owner: Joe Johnston •Founded: 1920s •Background: The Lunch Box was downtown’s last cafeteria style restaurant where regulars had a reserved table and photos of old downtown Oklahoma City adorned the walls.
