Douglas Bruce Accused Of Assault, Wanted In Denver

By STEPHEN HOBBS stephen.hobbs@gazette.com -Douglas Bruce is wanted in Denver on suspicion of assault, according to court records. A representative from the county court clerk's office said on Tuesday that the alleged incident occurred April 10, when he was in Denver District Court to learn of charges that a real estate transaction with Colorado Springs City Councilwoman Helen Collins violated the terms of his probation. The warrant was issued Sunday. The Denver Post reported that Bruce took a cellphone from Dede Laugesen - executive director of Colorado Springs Government Watch and wife of Gazette opinion page editor Wayne Laugesen - while she followed him out of the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse. Laugesen posted video of the alleged assault on YouTube.
