I recently read a rather interesting interview over at Gamasutra with Entertainment Software Ratings Board president, Patricia Vance. The ESRB is to video games as the MPAA is to movies, and they rate games from E (Everyone) to T (Teen) to M (Mature) to AO (Adults Only), and that last classification is rarely used.

In my (northern US) dialect: the first meal of the day is called breakfast; the second meal of the day is called lunch (if it is a light meal) or dinner (if it is a heavy meal); the third meal of the day is called supper (if it is a light meal) or dinner (if it is a heavy meal).

There is no word. I use kids when speaking to adults about my grown children, because it has less the connotation of youth (I think), but I have run into that problem myself. I sometimes feel the need to say, my children, now adults... or my married children when I want to avoid kids. –
