The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible “pipe bomb” found near an intersection in a residential neighborhood of Danville, a officials said. A stretch of Lusitano Street, between Camino Tassajara and Cashmere streets, is closed as police investigate the reported device. A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said there had been no injuries, and that they were not issuing a shelter-in-place warning for the area. The sheriff’s office tweeted about the incident and the road closure at 11:24 a.m.
