The Navy, on behalf of the Department of Defense has bowed out of the regulatory review of NextEra Energy Inc.’s proposed $4.3 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Electric Co., and now supports the deal, according to public documents. The DoD said it has entered into an agreement with the two companies because they have addressed the concerns raised by the DoD.
