Sunny blue skies and mild summer conditions will prevail in metro Denver Friday and through the weekend, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms bringing lightning and rain, according to the National Weather Service. A few storms rolling over the plains east of the city may be severe, mostly beyond Fort Morgan and Limon, dropping ping-pong-sized hail with wind gusting at speeds as fast as 65 miles per hour, weather service forecasters said.
