For the fourth straight season, the Denver Pioneers women’s volleyball season ends with a first-round exit in the NCAA Tournament. DU lost to Cal Poly in straight sets, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18, on Friday. Senior Cassie Baird led the squad with 11 kills. Denver (23-6) recorded 35 assists, 33 digs and six total team blocks. The loss caps the career of seven DU seniors, who led the Pioneers to a perfect 31-0 record in Summit League matches.
