Attorneys representing two of Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s top lieutenants in their upcoming extortion trial blasted federal prosecutors for continuing to pursue charges against their clients while putting off “the inevitable end of this unjust prosecution.”In a blistering motion filed today, lawyers for Kenneth Brissette and Timothy Sullivan — two top City Hall officials — say federal prosecutors are trying to “cobble together a viable case” and should drop the charges.
