The Mets have suddenly come alive. The hot swinging Amazin’s leaned on the long ball Saturday night in St. Louis to defeat the Cardinals 12-3. With the Mets leading 3-1, Daniel Vogelbach launched a grand slam in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach. Vogelbach’s slam was his 10th of the season as the rest of his teammates joined in on the home run party. DJ Stewart added a solo shot in the fourth — his fourth in his past four games — and Pete Alonso crushed a two-run shot in the seventh for good measure to cap off the Mets’ homerun party. While the Amazin’s provided plenty of run support, it wasn’t exactly necessary with Kodai Senga on the hill in dominant form.
