David E. Cole is the chairman of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I asked him about GM's viability plan, the credit crisis, government loans and the threat of Chapter 11. Here's an edited version of what he had to say: On their forecast: One of the important things is that the assumptions are very conservative -- they consider what's going on right now.
