Danbury Firefighters Put Out Furnace Fire

DANBURY - Firefighters quickly extinguished a blaze that erupted near the furnace of a home on the city’s north end. Officials with the fire department said the call came in around noon for a fire on Coach Road. Firefighters responding discovered a fire that had broke out near the furnace in the home’s basement. A 26-year-old woman and her 14-year-old brother who were home at the time heard the smoke alarm and called 911 after evacuating the house, officials said.
