Daily Dot Restructures, Lays Of 40% Of Staff

The DailyDot LLC, an Austin-based website focused on internet culture and news, has laid off 40 percent of its staff as part of a restructuring effort. The company that launched in mid-2011 cut 30 of its 75 employees with plans to hire more workers in video, e-commerce and sales. The layoffs were first reported by CNN and Politico.
