The next time you let a string of expletives rip in front of a disapproving audience, try this excuse: Swearing, it seems, is actually a powerful painkiller.The finding, as the Los Angeles Times points out, isn't exactly new; researchers from Keele University in England first wrote about it in the journal NeuroReport in 2009.
